Don’t let fear keep you from participating
Whether it be mountain climbing, running a marathon, or finally getting into a Dojo to start learning BJJ.
You can talk yourself out of a good thing out of fear, or into something great if you have the courage. The choice is yours and should come from within.
Fear is a reaction, COURAGE is a choice.
Every rock, step, tree and storm that stand between you and the top of the mountain can be found on something we traditionally call the TATAMI..the mats. You find these obstacles in your opponent, your training partners, and in the entanglement of problem solving. You find them in the sweat dripping, scrambles of hard work, technique and movement.
The experience of BJJ, and the power of the Grappling phenomenon is available to all. Grappling has been practiced for centuries on every corner of the globe as a way of proving ones roll in a tribe, as a way of practicing warrior strength and confidence, as a means of passing on skill sets and traditions to the next generation, offering children a physical outlet and a non-violent means of protection and staying healthy and strong.
The truth is like the mountains, Jiu-Jitsu doesn’t lie. Jiu-Jitsu offers you honest, daily, tribal feedback. It gives you strength, skill, and peace of mind. ALL in exchange for one thing…The COURAGE to begin.
So start climbing, get to a Dojo, learn to grapple, for your own reasons, whatever they may be, and consider sharing with your kids, they will be better for it.
Start training Jiu-Jitsu, it will change you.
